Our mission at Poised Fitness is to empower individuals to achieve holistic wellness through a comprehensive approach to fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being. We believe in the transformative power of a low-impact, well-rounded group training program consisting of functional strength, barre, pilates, and yoga to enhance physical strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. Through integrative nutrition and personalized wellness programs, we aim to educate and support our community in making sustainable lifestyle changes that promote optimal health and vitality. What:
An innovative low-impact, well-rounded, group training program consisting of functional strength + HIIT, PiYo (pilates/yoga), Barre Fusion (barre, pilates, yoga & cardio) and Mobility classes. Think of this program as group personal training + group fitness. You’ll get the community of group fitness, but the attention and quality of group personal training.

Class Descriptions
Functional Strength
A 45 minute circuit style resistance training class consisting of functional exercises (multi-joint movement patterns). This resistance training class builds muscle while boosting metabolism resulting in stronger, leaner more defined muscles and improved range of motion. We lift “heavy-ish” in this class. However form over function is priority.
Barre Fusion
A 60 minute class consisting of low impact resistance and cardio exercises. This class enhances your muscle tone, posture, and flexibility while blending barre, functional strength, and mind-body inspired movements. Barre fusion encourages lighter weights with higher reps.
PiYo
A 60 minute class that blends power yoga & pilates. This class focuses on core strength, flexibility, stability, balance, and posture while sneaking in movements that raise the heart rate. You can use lighter weights or just body weight alone in this class. It’s optional. Each class ends with relaxing mindfulness.
Mobility/Yoga for Student Athletes
A 45 minute class essential to the student athlete. This class improves flexibility, core strength, muscle imbalances, mobility and prevents injuries. To achieve peak performance, the athlete must utilize the full length of the muscle to exhibit power and strength. Mobility, Stability and Flexibility play a crucial role in injury prevention and performance.

FAQs
Will there be childcare? While I know this is very helpful when you have littles, unfortunately, we are unable to offer it.
Why Low-Impact? Most people over the age of 35 suffer with some sort of physical limitation or injury. This doesn’t mean we need to stop exercising, it just means we need to train smarter. That’s why at Poised Fitness, we work smarter, not harder. Low-Impact, smart training is important as we get older to avoid injury. However, if a member prefers high-impact options, they are welcome to modify it to their liking.
At Poised Fitness we avoid EXCESSIVE high intensity exercise training. Here’s why: High intensity interval training (HIIT) has many benefits like: improved cardiovascular health, increased calorie burn, enhanced fitness levels, muscle growth and strength, improved metabolic health, increased fat oxidation, and time efficiency. HOWEVER, excessive high intensity workouts can increase our cortisol levels. Excessive elevation of cortisol levels due to repeated high-intensity workouts, inadequate recovery, or chronic stress can have negative effects on health. At Poised Fitness, our functional strength days include high intensity interval training so our clients can reap the benefits HIIT has to offer, however we will never have back to back HIIT days on our schedule.
Is the program open to both males and females? Yes!
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Water Bottle
Heart Rate Monitor if you have one, no worries if not. (Apple watch/Fitbit is perfect).
If you have your own mat you’d like to bring for M, W & F classes, please do so. We will have mats available if you do not have your own.
Is it open to all fitness levels?
Yes! However, if you have a chronic condition or injury, please let your trainer know ahead of time so we can best serve you.
Will you open more class times?
The program will expand depending on demand & availability of instructors. Please email charity@apoisedperspective.com to request a class time or if you are interested in teaching.
How does billing work?
Your billing date is dependent on your join date. You will be billed monthly. This is a month-to-month membership.
What if you need to cancel your membership? If ever you need to cancel your membership, please notify us 30 days before your next billing cycle.
What if I need to freeze my account for personal reasons or vacations? There is an option to freeze your membership for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 90 days up to 4 times a year. There will be a $10 charge per freeze.
